An Endowment Care Fund has been established to help finance the long-term maintenance of the property. The fund helps guarantee the cemetery will not fall into disrepair and that landscaping will continue be tended to for years to come. The principal of the Endowment Care Funds can never be touched, only the income generated from it, so you have the security of knowing your memorial will be properly maintained in the years ahead.
Our professional and caring funeral directors and staff understand that planning a funeral is a highly personal decision. Our staff will explain all of your options, along with the costs, and help you make a decision that is genuinely right for you.
Traditional Ground Burial
Earth burial is still the most common of all cemetery services, partly because burial plots offer families a place to return to visit and pay respect to their loved ones, offering a peaceful resting place where their memorials and final tributes can be shared with generations to come.
Another interment option besides traditional ground burial is mausoleum entombment. A mausoleum is simply a large building designed to provide above-ground interment (or entombment) for a number of unrelated people. Sharing the cost of the mausoleum with other individuals has made it an affordable and attractive option for many. Sunset Funeral Home & Memorial Park features four mausoleums and a total of 432 crypt spaces. The first mausoleum was completed in the mid-1980s and contains the Resurrection Chapel and Shepherd Chapel with a beautiful view of the lake from its entrance. This original mausoleum features quaint lanterns lining the walkway to the entrance, and in addition to the lake view, it also overlooks both the Tranquility and Serenity outdoor mausoleums, each of which have two sections: Tranquility Garden and Tranquility Courtyard, and Serenity Garden and Serenity Courtyard. Sunset's newest mausoleum, the Chapel of Peace, was completed in 2005 and offers a picturesque view of the fountain and lake.
With Cremation, you have options that aren't available with a traditional burial. You can place the cremains in an urn and inter it in the family plot, place the urn in a niche in one of the Sunset Funeral Home & Memorial Park mausoleums, or customize your cremation.
